Depending on what kind of hunting you do, this could apply to you.
No form of hunting is as pure as public-land hunting. However, there's something about having to wear blaze orange that slightly takes away from that connection between nature and your primal instincts.
But, it keeps us safe, which is obviously the top priority when you're sharing hunting land. It's a good thing to have, it just sucks to wear it.
However, that will now change for some public-land hunters in Pennsylvania.
While the Pennsylvania Game Commission still highly recommends all hunters wear fluorescent orange, it will no longer require bowhunters and turkey hunters to wear any.
Big-game hunters are still required to wear at least 250 square inches of fluorescent orange, which they must wear on the head, chest and back.
Deer, bear and elk hunters must still post orange when hunting from an enclosed blind. Woodchuck hunters are still required to wear an orange hat. And, those hunting doves, waterfowl, furbearers, crows and post-Christmas flintlock deer still don't have to wear any at all.
These changes aim to cut down on some of the confusion about fluorescent orange requirements, particularly during deer season, thus reducing the number of tickets issued for unintentional violations.
