Here we are again. The goal is not to report another animal cruelty story but to applause the animal control officer for making the world aware this puppy needs a forever family. Someone must adopt this dog so he or she knows that life has happy endings.
WBTV reported this sad story and we want readers to be aware of this and spread the word. Please, let's all find a home for this dog. Here's what happened.
A Brookhaven Animal Control officer responded to a heartbreaking scene and the worst part is the puppy refused to leave the armchair dumped next to a tv on the side of the road. The puppy was so afraid since that armchair was likely the only source of comfort it had after the owner left the dog with the trash.
Sharon Norton, the Brookhaven Animal Control officer posted this statement on her Facebook page which I think pretty much sums it up.
"I get a message this morning to go check out this dog that's in the chair, this is what I pulled up and seen. To the person that dumped this chair, your puppywas waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food. shame on you for doing this to this puppy but one day Karma will meet up with you."
I agree with Norton. One day karma will come back to meet up with the pet owner, there is no doubt in my mind.
The puppy will be up for adoption soon.
The side of the road is no place for a dog. This should be obvious to most of us but clearly, based on this Facebook post the side of Mississippi road was a fine place for a dog and some trash. This happens every day and humane society organizations across the country are on point to step up thankfully.
We have written way too much content as it is about puppies and kittens being thrown into a dumpster so this just gets added to that category of animal cruelty I suppose. Whether it's the side of the road, in the trash, on a mattress or in a dumpster it's all jaw-dropping that people still treat animals like this and think it's fine to leave them to die and starve...even on the side of a Mississippi road.
We appreciate Sharon Norton for sharing this so it could viral and hope this Facebook post gets shared broadly so this dog can find a forever home. The picture is heartbreaking and yet we're happy to share it as we know this will provide the exposure needed and perhaps the person involved will see some time in jail! Send dog the bounty hunter after them!
We will just label this as "side of the road" animal cruelty. Facebook continues to provide a platform for all animal advocates and we're grateful. We don't care if this is a first time offender either. Just like Sharon Norton said, there will be a day karma will come back to bite them. We hope that day is every day!
