The 2018 Safari Club International Hunters' Convention starts this week.
While the biggest and best gun companies used last week to show off at SHOT Show, another convention rolls into Las Vegas a week later with just as much, if not more, for hunters to view, experience, and even bid on.
It's the 2018 SCI Hunters' Convention, going down at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 31 to February 3, 2018.
Here are just some of the highlights, plus new additions to this year's show:
Auctions
Guided hunts, taxidermy, outdoor art, firearms... you name it, you can probably bid on it at the Hunters' Convention.
On-going silent auctions, plus more official events happen throughout the week, but the main idea to get across is that attendees and interested bidders have a rare opportunity to not only schedule a hunt-of-a-lifetime experience, but do it at a fraction of the typical cost.
Seminars
There's something for everyone in SCI's collection of live seminars and Q&A sessions. From local SCI Chapter members to educated African wildlife experts, the diverse lineup of speakers and presentations represents some of the most-asked questions and hot topics in the worldwide hunting industry.
As an example, here are a few sessions: How to Choose a Rifle Optic for an African Safari, Planning and Designing Your Trophy Room, and a Q&A with Jim Shockey.
New This Year
The "Super Sweepstakes" showcases 10 prize packages made up of hunting trips, firearms, and optics for a full scale experience. Game animals like ibex, mountain goats, and a mixed species trip to the Western Rockies are just a samplingn of what's available to win.
Also, a new Convention Daily Floor Credit will be given to paid attendees, free of any additional charge, and are applicable to the various services and booths throughout the show. The winning amounts will increase in value each day, with a final winner receiving $5,000 in floor credit!
It's not too late to check on attending, and you definitely should consider it if you're an SCI member. It's a must-see for all outdoorsmen, far and wide.
