SHOT SHOW 2017 gives us a chance to see the Springfield Armory EMP4 Concealed Carry Contour pistol in action. It is taking the tried and true 1911 design and making it more agronomical for concealed carry needs.
Very neat stuff, taking the 1911 design that I love, and tweaking it so it is better suited to concealed carry. They have reduced much of the "imprint" so that it is truly concealed and they offer it in 9mm.
This is not just simply a "chopped down" version of the 1911 platform; Springfield has built in a patented short action to reduce the overall size of the pistol and contoured it to reduce signature.
A more concealable 1911 specifically designed for your carry needs, that is a good thing in my books.
