The Sig Sauer P938 SAS Micro-Compact is designed for close quarters.
In the world of concealed carry, shooters are always looking for firearms that are lighter, have slimmer profiles and less places to snag on clothing should you ever need it in an emergency. All the major companies including Glock, Ruger, Remington, Smith & Wesson and Springfield Armory are all continually working on improving their semi auto pistols. Sig Sauer is no exception. They haave released a ton of innovative handgun designs that have caught on with the self-defense community and now they are making one of them better than before.
The company says the P938 Micro-Compact is now smoother and more snag-free than ever before thanks to a "radical dehorning process."
This gun has the same features of the company's .380 ACP carry pistol, but the P938 packs more of a punch thanks to being chambered in 9mm Luger. Here are all the details on why this is a serious consideration for your next semi-automatic carry gun.
Features of the Sig P938
Sig Sauer has released a few different variations for this semi-auto, compact 9mm. The sku on this one is officially the 938-9-SAS2B. The frame is extremely compact at just 5.5 inches overall length and a height of 3.8 inches. The width is a slim 1.1 inches, which should make it comfortable for all-day carry no matter what type of holsters you prefer. The carbon steel barrel length is three inches and the whole package weighs just 16 ounces.
Like we have come to expect from many modern semi-autos, the gun is also fully ambidextrous. For sights, this gun features an interesting design. It is being fitted with FT bullseye night sights standard on the rear but no front sights. That is because the company says this gun is specifically designed for close encounters inside of 10 yards.
Because when you need to defend yourself, seconds count. These sights will allow you to get on your target quickly and easily, even if you are encountering poor lighting conditions such as those you might find in a darkened home or parking garage.
This gun features a stainless steel slide that is Nitron coated. The metal frame has a hard coat anodized finish. Sig Sauer says this gun was meant to appeal to fans of the classic 1911 design. It is a single-action trigger (SAO) design. The company decided to place the thumb safety, slide stop lever and the magazine release in the same place you would find them one of the larger pistols.
The ammo capacity is seven rounds in the gun's extended steel magazines. This one is sure to turn some heads and gain some fans quickly. We see a lot of people adding this gun to their wishlists this year. See Sig Sauer's website for more information about the P938 and other carry guns.
