These guys were out hunting when they started hearing some pretty creepy and weird sounds coming from the woods around them. No, it wasn't Bigfoot. According to one of the guys in the video, they had stumbled upon a mountain lion in heat. While there's no way to prove this was real—and that they weren't just playing with a predator call, it does indeed sound most like a mountain lion in heat.

While predators are always a threat when we're hunting out in the great outdoors, there's something particularly intimidating about mountain lions. You obviously have bears to worry about in much of the United States, which are typically the apex predator in their respective environments. You also have to worry about wolves in a growing number of regions, and their tendency to travel in packs and stalk their prey is particularly scary.
However, there's something about the stealthiness of mountain lions that makes them so eery to share the wild with. When you consider there are somewhere between 20,000 and 40,000 mountain lions here in the U.S., you have to ask yourself one question: how have you never seen one before?
Sly and cunning, mountain lions rely on their low profile nature to survive, which is exactly what makes them such effective predators. So, hearing something like this—and having proof of proximity—is one of the creepiest feelings any hunter could ever experience.
You could be forgiven if you were freaked out and confused by that sound. I know I was at first!
