The Daiwa Beefstick; that just sounds like a great name for a pole. All right, stop making dirty jokes. Seriously, Daiwa is a respected brand in rods and reels, so let's see if the beefstick stacks up to the reputation.
So, apparently, if you need to catch your young kids this pole is perfect. That and a toy truck is the ideal bait. Aside from that, this reel is just too flexible. I like action in my bass and panfish rods, but not on my catfish setups.
Dead lifting a child is a good measure when you're comparing it to other setups. Considering 40-pound catfish aren't uncommon when you start catching blues and flatheads, this rod has too much flex. As summed up at the end of the video, though, the rod is not the weak point when compared to the reel.
