Which vehicles have the ideal owner satisfaction rating?
Consumer Reports, the go-to source for many car shoppers, just released its owner satisfaction survey with some surprising results.
Occupying the rankings' top five spots are Tesla, Porsche, Genesis, Chrysler and Audi. While it may be odd to see Chrysler at the top of any Consumer Reports list, keep in mind this list is compiled from the magazine's survey of how much owners like their cars, despite reliability or quality issues.
Sports car makers, such as Porsche, easily overcome negative qualities in a satisfaction survey because they build cars tailored specifically to their buyers' desires. In other words, Porsche buyers are looking for fun and fast, and the 911 delivers.
Genesis also had an easier time than some carmakers since they build only two cars with luxury buyers in mind.
Chrysler, on the other hand, has a much wider range of vehicles and apparently were able to make many different buyers happy. Their fourth place ranking is four places higher than last year.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Mazda at No. 6, then Subaru, Toyota, Honda and Lincoln. Surprisingly at the bottom are Acura at No. 30, and Nissan at 29. Mitsubishi sits at 28, Infiniti at 27, and Cadillac at No. 26.
