Dodge releases new Rallye Appearance Package for Durango GT that adds a few key features.
The Durango GT is the second trim in the lineup, and although it already comes with notable amenities, this new package gives the SUV a bolder, more aggressive look.
Dodge found that a number of their customers love the design of the Durango R/T and SRT, but don't need the extra power associated with its performance.
To play middle man, Dodge came up with the Durango GT Rallye Appearance Package.
Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Cars FCA - North America, comments, "Many of our customers love the performance look of the Durango R/T and Durango SRT, but are happy with the award-winning Pentastar V-6 engine's 295 horsepower and the excellent fuel efficiency it delivers. This new Durango GT Rallye Appearance Package gives those three-row SUV buyers the best of both worlds."
With this package outfitted, the GT features a performance hood with a cold air duct and two heat extractors, a performance front fascia and LED fog lamps.
There are seven colors to choose from as well: Vice White, White Knuckle, Octane Red, Redline Red, DB Black, Granite, and In-Violot.
Although it appears as though it's more performance-oriented, the standard Dodge Durango GT engine remains intact—the 3.6L Pentastar® V6. This machine produces 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
It comes equipped with a dual exhaust paired with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel and all-wheel drive are both available.
Thanks to this engine's strength, the GT offers a best-in-class 6,200-lb towing capacity.
While there are no adjustments made in the cabin with this package, the GT still comes with an impressive list of amenities. You can expect to see three rows of seating, leather-trimmed upholstery, a power liftgate, SiriusXM® satellite radio and Uconnect® 7.0.
The Rallye Appearance Package joins the Durango's other package options, including the Blacktop Package, Brass Monkey Appearance Package and the Anodized Platinum Appearance Package. Unlike the others, the Rallye package will only be available for a limited time.
The GT trim starts at $37,895, and the package totals $1,495.
