The Five Rivers Challenge: California's Best Trout Fishing Tournament

The Five Rivers Challenge may be the coolest trout fishing tournament out there.

If you're looking for great trout fishing, look no further than Northern California. If you're looking for a fun trout fishing tournament to test your abilities against, The Five Rivers Challenge may be just the thing.

This challenge is put on each year by Clearwater Lodge. Dates for the 2017 tournament are June 20-24. But if you want in, you'd better not waste time.

The tournament allows for a total of eight two-person teams. That's it. Participating teams spend half a day on each of California's top wild trout fishing rivers: The Pit River, McCloud River, Upper Sacramento River, and Hat Creek. Then, on the final half day of the three day tournament, teams can choose their favorite of the five rivers to fish.
