Available to order this month, the Volvo VNX is a heavy-hauler designed for the off-road, specializing in logging and other long-haul operations.
The VNX runs on a Volvo D13 engine delivering 500 horsepower and 1,850-pound-feet of torque. It is available in three cab configurations that vary depending on local heavy haul, overnight regional style sleepers, and a full 70-inch sleeper.
Load ratings range from 125,000 to 160,000 tons with upgrades contributing to a max 225,000 pounds.
"The new VNX is the ultimate blend of Volvo's modern, aerodynamic design and pure purpose-built performance," said Chris Stadler, Volvo Trucks North America product marketing manager for regional hauls. "From end-to-end, every feature of the VNX is built to stand up to any heavy-haul job you throw at it. Improvements are easy to see throughout the VNX including the bumper, axles, suspensions, braking, powertrain, and more."
Compare that to the Tesla Semi, lightweight by comparison with a max load of 80,000 pounds.
