This avalanche filmed in Juneau, Alaska shows just how powerful they can be. The snow begins to loose it's grip way up on the mountain. As it begins to slide it pulls more and more snow with it. By the time the whole mass meets the shoreline a storm of white obliterates everything. This frightening and amazing footage proves just how unforgiving nature can be.
This video should be a warning to all of us who travel in avalanche prone areas to take extra caution. Just imagine if you were in the middle of that avalanche? You might just be found in the late spring...
