The Ford F-Series has long been considered #1 in the pickup truck segment. Not only is it August 2017's best seller but the best-selling vehicle in America, period. It offers the choice of five engines from a base 282-horsepower to a 450-horsepower V6, roomy and comfortable seating, 19 city mpg/26 mpg highway fuel numbers, and a reported smoother drive vs. the competition. The F-Series is also known for top safety scores, awarded a 5 out of 5-star rating from the NHTSA.
Chevrolet Silverado - 54,448 units sold
In second place on this list of August 2017 top-selling cars is the Chevrolet Silverado, known for its selection of V8 engine options, configuration options, and one of the highest payload capacities in its class. Also, it has above average cabin material and plenty of technology features, including a Teen Drive system as standard. Plus, its base price is just shy of $28,000, which is below the average cost of a full-size pickup truck. One major knock on the Silverado is its fuel economy (18 mpg city/24 mpg highway).
Toyota RAV4 - 43,265 units sold

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 is an average compact SUV more known for its safety and cargo space than anything else. This model embodies the 'jack of all trades, master of none" mantra with its underpowered single 175-horsepower 2.5 liter four-cylinder, average fuel economy (23 city mpg/29 mpg highway), and average reliability rating. The perfect 'Point A to Point B' vehicle for families.
Toyota Camry - 37,051 units sold
The 2017 Toyota Camry is one of the best-selling cars in America, placed amongst the best in the midsize car segment.
