How do you tell bears to break it up and get off your lawn?
Well, you don't. But these guys didn't seem to mind the free show they were fortunate enough to watch from their front porch.
Things got heated in a hurry in May 2019 in New Jersey when two boar black bears went to war over a nearby sow. Black bears are known to be particularly aggressive with one another during mating season, but it's not every day it happens right in front of someone's house!
These guys didn't stay outside long, either. We can't blame them, as the risk of a black bear attack outweighed the appeal of ringside seats. It would seem these brawling bruins were just a tad too close for comfort.
Watch the video below. We'll preface this with a warning that there is some harsh language in the video.
I think it's probably safe to say this is the craziest thing that'll ever happen in this particular yard. So, what would you do in the event of a bear encounter like this? What if you had a pet outside when this went down? Thank goodness that wasn't the case, but these types of crazy acts of nature always make my mind race to emergency scenarios and how to handle them. This certainly makes you consider the importance of knowing where your kids and pets are at all times, though, especially in bear country!
The real question is what do you do if that fight works its way up onto your porch?
There are so many unknowns that come with a situation like this, but the one thing I do know is I'd have a loaded firearm ready to go, just in case.
