Toyota's off-road performance package gets even more hardcore for 2019.
Truck lovers have to be loving this year following all the new models launched in Detroit last month, and Toyota just made things even better. Toyota launched an updated lineup of 2019 Toyota TRD Pro at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show giving off-road enthusiasts more extreme options when hitting the dirt, rocks or just about any terrain you want.
Toyota launched the Toyota TRD Pro package for the 2015 model year to create off-road versions of the Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner, and the 2019 model year brings a host of improvements. These trucks still get unique styling elements, beefed-up and lifted suspension and meaty off-road tires, and the entire 2019 TRD Pro lineup now benefits from Fox shocks and other Toyota Racing Development (TRD) upgrades. The 2019 Toyota TRD Pro trucks go on sale this fall, and they will be available in three colors: Super White, Midnight Black and a TRD Pro-exclusive color, Voodoo Blue.
2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro
The 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro gets the coolest new feature of these trucks with an optional TRD Desert Air Intake. This mounts on the passenger-side A-pillar to ensure the engine gets clean air when blasting through the desert. Other upgrades include a front suspension with 2.5-inch Fox shocks, TRD springs and a larger sway bar, while the rear end gets 2.5-inch Fox shocks with 2-inch external reservoirs. A new skid plate with red TRD lettering and cat-back TRD exhaust round out the key changes.
2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro
Moving up to the 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, this full-size truck gets similar upgrades with the 2.5-inch Fox shocks and TRD springs, while the rear gets 2.5-inch Fox shocks with 2.5-inch external reservoirs. These suspension changes help to increase the Tundra's front and rear wheel travel by more than two inches! For improved looks and off-road enjoyment, the Tundra TRD Pro also adds a new hood intake, 18-inch BBS wheels and Rigid Industries LED fog lights.
2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
You guessed it, the 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro gets new 2.5-inch Fox shocks up front and 2.5-inch Fox shocks with 2-inch external reservoirs at the rear. Finally, the 4Runner TRD Pro adds an available roof rack as well as the new skid plate and a larger wheel offset that helps widen the 4Runner's track by about an inch.
