Turn up your speakers and listen to this brown bear breathe.
We all know bears can be unpredictable. Brown bears are certainly no exception to that rule.
Nature often does as it pleases, and no matter how prepared you are, it's always best to expect the unexpected.
Take this unbelievable footage shot recently by wildlife photographer Dmitry Arkhipov in North Karelia, Finland. While sitting in a photo blind, a hungry brown bear sauntered up to within a few feet of Arkhipov, casually grazing on the lush vegetation.
Although some commentators believed that the audible click heard during the video is the cocking of a gun, it's in fact Arkhipov taking a snapshot of the massive ursus arctos with his camera.
Warning: you may not want to head camping again after watching this too-close-for-comfort clip.
Talk about a thrilling, yet overwhelmingly terrifying encounter.
Lucky for Arkhipov, this brown bear was more interested in gobbling up its greens than feasting on some flesh.
A full-grown brown bear averages 550-660 pounds. For comparison, a grizzly bear weighs typically weighs 400-790 pounds.
Think you could've kept your composure?
