How well can solid tool steel stand up to custom shotgun shells?
If you've been a fan of Demolition Ranch for a while like us here at Wide Open Spaces, you know probably know how Matt Carriker used to make some pretty wild custom shotgun shells.
It's been a long time since he's done that, however. Unfortunately, YouTube didn't like him making those custom videos and actually removed many of them not too long ago.
But in Carriker's latest video, a viewer who goes by the username Ballistic Machinist sent some pretty cool, custom-made shotgun loads and a target made of impact-resistant tool steel. So, of course, he has to shoot the slugs at it. How will it hold up?
Watch the video below:
We have to say, the way that disc held up to the punishment Matt doled out on it was impressive. Not only did it handle the shotgun loads, but it was barely nicked by the .50-caliber! And now he has a really slick-looking display piece that is sure to spark some conversation with anyone who sees it.
These custom shotgun shells were very interesting. We can't say we've ever seen anything like that .357 Defender. We're sure this isn't the last time we'll see him test these out since he only fired one of each. We're looking forward to seeing what kind of damage they can inflict on a target that's a little easier to penetrate than solid steel!
