Demo Ranch puts the M249's name to the test!
Guess what? Demolition Ranch bought a new gun. Yeah, I know, it would probably be easier to name all the videos where he DIDN'T just buy a new gun. One of these days, this guy has to show us where he keeps his firearms. It's probably an armory that would make the U.S. Army jealous.
But in any case, his new gun is the famous M249 SAW light machine gun.
An acronym nickname like SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) paired Matt's personality leads to a pretty predictable idea. We're not surprised to see him take the "SAW" name quite literally, as he attempts to use it to literally saw boards in half.
This was definitely the least-effective method anyone has probably ever tried to saw wood in half. But it was also probably a lot more fun than using a hand saw!
We were also surprised to learn some more of the versatility of the M249 from this video. As large and as bulky as this firearm is, the ability to use the mags from other rifles is a huge advantage in any combat situation. It's no wonder this firearm has seen action in every U.S. conflict since its introduction. Obviously this is the civilian version because it's semi-auto, but it's still a versatile weapon.
We'll be interested to see how Matt utilizes the M249 in future videos down the line.
