Lots of rain made for a fun water park for this elk.
A common tactic for many elk hunters, especially in the warm early season, is to hunt over water holes. These water sources, also known as wallows, offer much needed relief from the heat and sun for the large animals. Elk will make a note of these wallows and visit them frequently during the warm season.
Its safe to say that elk also enjoy playing around in the wallows from time to time. Such was the case for this recent cow. A herd of elk in Colorado recently made its way onto a local golf course. A patron of the course filmed this video of an elk taking full advantage of the heavy rains. Puddles were abundant. And they were perfect for playing in.
