With the snow still falling in New York, you might think the turkeys are touchy, but these look ready.
With the longer days and sunny skies in sight, the turkeys are still doing their thing whether we are or not. It won't be long before the two toms in this video have little patience for each other and begin battling in earnest.
The 2-year-old in the back seems to already know his place:
Turkey season lasts for the entire month of May in New York State. Each hunter is allowed two bearded birds per season, and only one of the two allotted birds may be taken in the same day. It sure is tough when they come in pairs like this, though!
The youth hunting turkey season runs April 21-22 for young NY hunters ready to put a big gobbler down.
Make sure to take pictures and videos if you can, and you might just see them right here!
