So, what kind of action takes place on a Tuesday night in Kings Beach?
Deputy Nevins of Placer County Sherrif's Office was on patrol, and it looks like the night was fairly quiet. Then he came across a "suspicious character."
Yep, that's a black bear strolling down the sidewalk in Kings Beach, and a big one at that.
It didn't look too happy to be interrupted.
Fortunately, Nevins didn't take it personally, calling out, "Hey, big boy, don't be breaking into any of them businesses."
Most likely, this isn't the first black bear the deputy has seen, as they're fairly common in the Lake Tahoe area.
And in the fall, they'll forage for up to 20 hours a day in preparation for winter. As one commenter wrote, "He's just pissed the McDonald's drive-thru was closed!"
Then, the puns came out:
"That guy would BEARLY fit in cuffs."
"The thing you have to remember is that this subject was bear-ly legal."
We're betting the bear ran off because the puns crossed the line.
