Video: Minnesota Sheriff's Deputy Smacks Deer at 100 mph While Responding to Call

Once again, a deputy has an unfortunate encounter with a deer.

Earlier this month, we brought you the story of a sheriff's deputy in Georgia who smacked into a deer while responding to a call.

Well, it happened again. This time it was a deputy with the Isanti County Sheriff's Department in Minnesota. Again, the deputy was responding to a call when the deer darted out of nowhere.

See the entire crash in the video report here.

Deputy John McCarty was doing about 100 miles per hour when this incident happened. A Facebook post detailing the accident on the Sheriff's Facebook page reveals he was responding to a call of a man with a gun.

As unfortunate as this incident is, if you're going to hit a deer, this is the way to do it. "If he would have swerved, traveling at a high rate of speed going to a high-priority call, he probably would have tipped it over and we would have a different story today," Sheriff Chris Caulk told CBS Minnesota.

If you need further proof of how dangerous this could have been, look no further than these photos of the scene right after the accident posted on the Sheriff's Facebook page.

The deputy suffered some bruising from the airbags, but was otherwise unharmed. Still, this is some scary stuff. Remember to use caution when driving through deer-frequent areas this time of year!
