Fawn fails at high jump, but fortunately gets a helping hand.
A misjudged jump led to a life-and-death struggle for a spotted fawn Aug. 30, as it found itself tightly wedged in a wooden fence in Eugene, Oregon.
Without human intervention, the likelihood for freedom for this little whitetail was pretty much non-existent. Enter Officer Shawni McLaughlin to the rescue.
A local officer, as well as member of the police department's animal welfare unit, McLaughlin performed a quick rescue with the use of a towel and long pair of gloves.
Perhaps it's not only cats who are fortunate to have nine lives.
Go easy on the high jump, little one. You're just not quite there yet.
