VIDEO: Should You, or Should You Not Buy Expensive Lures?

Are the expensive lures really that much better?

There are many expensive lures an angler can buy, but is the bang really worth the buck? Here's a video showcasing expensive lures' performance against cheaper competitors.

The first matchup was the Paul Brown vs. a Tsunami knockoff. In the test, the Paul Brown lure kept rolling and tipping over on its side, whereas the Tsunami remained more upright in the water.

Second up was the Johnson Silver Minnow vs. Gator Spoon, and once again, the less expensive lure was more effective. The Gator had more sporadic movements, and it also featured a cutout where the worms could be secured  to prevent sliding.

More often than not, the cheaper lures outperformed the expensive ones. However, more important than the lure is the technique used. This angler knew how to use the bait, and that can make or break a fishing trip. It's best to check out a couple different varieties lures next time you're at the bait shop to ensure you find the one the best suits your style.
