A flooded field in South Dakota is the perfect place for a pheasant to get his feet wet with some migrating waterfowl.
Bill Van der Hagen Photography shared this terrific and rare footage of a beautiful rooster ringneck pheasant wading through a puddle in the middle of a flooded South Dakota field.
Spring is one of the best times of the year to see a wide variety of ducks stopping off on their way north to breed, but one nice rooster stole the show!
Here's the video:
You can see a northern shoveler, as well as maybe some gadwall or widgeon.
Watching a rooster glide by is the icing on the cake, though!
We'd like to give a big thanks to Bill Van der Hagen Photography for sharing this unique video! What other kinds of waterfowl can you see out there?
