Dog to the rescue!
Usually when a fawn is in trouble, it's a human we see coming to the rescue. But this time it's man's best friend instead!
Fox 13 News brings us this cool footage of Mark Freely's dog Storm bringing this injured fawn back to shore in Port Jefferson, New York. This footage will brighten up the early part of your week.
Freely didn't even know at first exactly what had Storm so riled up out in the harbor. Freely and Storm and his other dog Sarah watched over the deer until vets from Strong Island Animal Rescue could come out to help it. Fox 13 reports it is expected to recover fully from the ordeal.
We've certainly seen a lot of interesting fawn rescues this spring and summer. Whether it's a policeman rescuing fawns from a storm drain or a busy roadside. Or even firefighters pulling twin baby deer out of the line of a forest fire, it seems there's always a fawn in need of aid somewhere.
Thanks for sharing the footage of Storm and the deer with the world Freely!
