That is one thirsty deer!
In the wake of the recent hurricanes Harvey and Irma we've seen plenty of stories of animals that were displaced from their normal homes. But this recent video from Monroe County, Florida, may top them all.
Firefighters with the Delray Beach Fire Department were surveying damaged homes when they stumbled across one an endangered key deer buck in a home. What happened next was unbelievable. Just check out the video below and see for yourself.
The buck drank four whole bottles of water before it finally fled the scene. The poor buck must have been dying of thirst!
"I am just glad to not only help the residents, but the wildlife as well," Lieutenant Nicholas Johnson of the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
While this incident turned out well for the deer, authorities are warning residents to contact Fish and Wildlife if they come across other wild animals in distress. There were major concerns for the endangered key deer herd when Irma targeted the Keys area, but it seems the herd has handled the storm fairly well.
We've seen some pretty crazy stories out of these hurricanes already this season. We're just wondering what crazy thing will happen next to top this one!
