Spieth and Kaufman find some time between rounds for a little fishing.
With the PGA tour in Hawaii for the 2017 Sony Open, somehow golf pros Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman found some time to get out on the water and wet a line just off the course after their opening round.
But the surf isn't the same as the golf course and things don't go entirely the way they'd planned. Watch till the end to see a funny and somewhat predicable end to their afternoon of fishing.
Who would have thought golf commentary on angling would work so well here?
While conditions were certainly perfect for a nice kayak fishing outing, I didn't see these guys boat a single fish. Guess a good golf swing doesn't translate to the ocean.
Smylie later joked about the trip's wavy ending on Twitter.
Chasing a sea turtle "crush" was a bad idea. That's when our fishing trip took a turn for the worst. Lost the fishing poles but survived ??? https://t.co/SlLTMbgi9b

Wait a minute, these guys managed to lose your poles but somehow saved their cell phones? How on earth did they manage that? Maybe you guys should stick to golf; I'm not sure you'll be getting a fishing show anytime soon!
