Ever wonder what would happen if we treated turkeys like deer?
As hunters we have come a long ways, especially with whitetails. In my lifetime of hunting (roughly 15 years) hunting has changed dramatically. I used to hunt and get excited to see a deer, which I would shoot, even if it was a fawn. Now, I let several deer walk to let them grow. What if we did the same thing with turkeys?
That hit a little close to home right? They have a point in the pursuit of big bucks we often forget that the point of hunting is to have fun. While we all like to shoot bigger and bigger deer, if you're happy with 2 and half year old deer then that's a trophy. If not, well, that's a hard pass.
