It has been a tumultuous month for Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
In response to British diver Vern Unsworth regarding the effectiveness of Musk's submarine during the Thai cave save, calling it a "PR stunt". Musk called him a "pedo" before quickly deleting the tweets. As a result, Unsworth has threatened a lawsuit in a Nine Network interview without specifying a timeline.
"It just had absolutely no chance of working," said Unsworth in an interview. "He had no conception of what the cave passage was like. The submarine, I believe, was about 5ft 6in long, rigid, so it wouldn't have gone around corners or round any obstacles."
Shortly thereafter, Tesla shares briefly dipped 3 percent, a small hit in a larger recovery since March where shares fell by 22 percent amidst NTSB woes, a fatal Model X crash, and questions over Tesla's ability to produce 5,000 vehicles a week.
Musk's latest salvo also came before a July 8 Bloomberg Businessweek Q&A interview where Musk promised to control his lack of filter on Twitter, to no avail.
"I have made the mistaken assumption — and I will attempt to be better at this — of thinking that because somebody is on Twitter and is attacking me that it is open season. And that is my mistake," said Musk. "I will correct it."
Fortunately, Musk declared an apology on Twitter.
Nonetheless, his actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr. Unsworth and to the companies I represent as leader. The fault is mine and mine alone.

Let's see if this helps the (likely) pending lawsuit go away altogether.
