Imagine driving down the highway and seeing this adorable puppy in the ditch.
Of course, you pick it up and take it somewhere in hopes getting it some much-needed care. Well that's what happened in Illinois back in 2018, but the good Samaritans didn't realize just what they'd picked up.
After some time, the officers began to realize this puppy was actually a female coyote.
This cute puppy was brought to the PD after a concerned resident found it alone on the side of a busy road. Actually, the puppy turned out to be a coyote! He was quite the attraction at the PD before he was brought to our friends at Willowbrook Wildlife. pic.twitter.com/Kx9DtsS4sd

"This cute puppy was brought to the PD after a concerned resident found it alone on the side of a busy road," Bartlett police wrote in a tweet. "Actually, the puppy turned out to be a coyote!"
The coyote pup caused quite the buzz, ultimately becoming a must-see attraction at the police department. The dehydrated coyote was sent to Willbrook Wildlife Center to be monitored and brought back to full health.
Apparently the young pup quickly made strides to better health; there was even an update on its rehabilitation process.
It sure was a wild surprise for these folks!
