Now here's a new take on a little-known pork recipe, but twisted a bit to make it fit perfectly for venison. You may think that a BBQ pulled venison recipe might sound a little strange because of the root beer, but trust us, it's pretty much amazing.
As you are about to see in the quick how-to video below, this recipe comes together very quickly and easily. The ingredients are also below in case you missed them, or would rather see the list instead.
Also, here's a big shoutout to Masters's Hand BBQ for the excellent sauce in the recipe!
Here are those ingredients. As you just saw, not a whole lot goes into this. However, it sure does taste great!
Root Beer BBQ Pulled Venison
Ingredients
- 1 large thawed venison roast
- 1 packet beefy onion soup mix
- 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 whole diced onion
- 1 bottle of root beer
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
To get this recipe started, just simply combine all of the above ingredients, except for the corn starch, in a large crock pot, stir it all up, and cook on low for six to seven hours. That's about it.
When it is done, shred the venison with a couple forks and place it back in the sauce. Finally, stir in the corn starch, cook for just a few minutes longer with the lid on, and serve on buns.
Good luck not eating it all in one sitting!
