We hate to laugh, but there are clear signs telling these tourists not to touch a wild horse.
This man was clearly trying to enjoy this day at the beach on Assateague Island, off the coast of Maryland. Despite the multiple signs warning against interacting with the animals he just couldn't resist and had his fun cut short after attempting to pet one of the park's wild horses. If you own a horse or have ever come into contact with a friend's horse, you know the rules! There are clear warning signs from horses when they aren't interested in being touched!
The New York Post commented how the horse just wanted to be left alone!
"The Assateague horse, also called the Chincoteague Pony, was just trying to mind its own business — and let the man in a Speedo know it was not interested in his advances by giving him a swift kick in the groin."
The poor man collapses!
Assateague Island National Seashore has a combined total of over 300 wild ponies in Maryland and Virginia. Some people believe the horses arrived on Assateague's shores when a Spanish galleon ship (with a cargo of horses) sank offshore.
This Maryland Beach clearly has tons of tourists visit without an issue, so perhaps the sun made him make a bad choice! Local warnings are posted everywhere, and this beachgoer must have gotten excited and had to learn the hard way! Wild animals deserve our respect.
