Throughout its nearly 50-year history, Mitsubishi has churned out a decent amount of capable off-roading vehicles, like the Lancer and Pajero, which both made Mitsubishi a pretty big name in rally racing. This $247 beater of a hatchback featured in the below video may not be on the same level as the Lancer or Pajero, but that didn't stop the guys over at Car Throttle from taking it off road to see how long it could survive all the jumps, puddles, and hills they could throw at it.
The title of the video is "What Does It Take To Kill A £200 Mitsubishi?" (shout out to all the British gearheads out there), and as you can see from the footage, it takes a lot more than you might think to bring this bad boy down.
Per Jalopnik:
"This is a Mitsubishi! Obviously, this has got rally pedigree! It's channeling its inner Evo."

Car Throttle has its smaller European cousin and an off-road course, and of course it catches some sweet air. The heroes at Car Throttle took their intrepid $247 beater Mitsubishi Space Star on an off-road course meant for the Can-Am Maverick X3 off-roader.

Once the Space Star finally died, the Car Throttle dudes celebrate by driving a vehicle much more suited for their location, the Can-Am Maverick X3, and it looked like a complete blast. I mean, that thing absolutely RIPS.
Since the video is a couple years old, they were riding around in the 2017 model of the Maverick X3, which is working with a turbocharged triple-cylinder engine that churns out around 154 horsepower. If you're itching to hit the trails after seeing this in action, we don't blame you.
